Position Summary

The Bead Blaster Machine Operator / Clean Room Technician is responsible for operating surface-finishing bead blasting equipment, performing precision cleaning tasks, and maintaining contamination-controlled environments. This role supports manufacturing, production, and quality teams by ensuring components meet strict cleanliness and surface-finish requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Bead Blasting Operations

  • Operate bead blasting machines to clean, smooth, or prepare metal, ceramic, or plastic components.
  • Load and unload parts, ensuring correct placement to avoid damage.
  • Select appropriate media (glass bead, aluminum oxide, etc.) based on job specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts for uniform finish, defects, or inconsistencies.
  • Adjust machine settings such as pressure, nozzle distance, and blast duration to meet process requirements.
  • Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.

Clean Room Operations

  • Work inside ISO-classified clean rooms, following strict contamination-control procedures.
  • Perform precision cleaning of components using approved solvents, ultrasonic cleaners, or manual cleaning tools.
  • Package, label, and seal cleaned components per cleanliness standards.
  • Wear and maintain appropriate clean-room garments (gowns, gloves, masks, goggles).
  • Follow material flow protocols to maintain clean room integrity.

Quality & Documentation

  • Conduct visual inspections using microscopes or magnification tools.
  • Complete process documentation, production logs, and quality checklists accurately.
  • Report defects, non-conformances, or equipment issues promptly.
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines consistently.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to company EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards.
  • Handle media, chemicals, and cleaning solutions safely and correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience in bead blasting, sandblasting, finishing, or mechanical processing preferred.
  • Experience working in ISO-controlled clean room environments is a plus.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality procedures.
  • Capability to lift 25-50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
